Choose Multi Coupling (Grooved/Lug) when you need speed, flexibility (to handle vibration or seismic movement), and light weight. It is the standard for modern fire protection systems (NFPA 13/14) because it is easy to retrofit and install in tight spaces. Choose Flange Coupling when you have extremely high pressure, large diameters, or when the connection point requires a rigid, heavy-duty anchor point, such as fire pump discharge. However, it is significantly heavier, slower to install, and costs more.
